Hitmaker Janet Jackson has given birth to her first child – at the age of 50. The songstress and her husband Wissam Al Mana have welcomed a little boy into their family, announcing that they have named him Eissa.
According to a spokesperson, Janet’s labour and birth was “stress free,” and she is now “resting comfortable” following the birth. The 50 year old Rhythm Nation singer has been keeping a relatively low profile during her pregnancy. However, she did post in November to let fans know that she was “doing well”.
Janet revealed in October that she was expecting. However, it is understood that she has suffered from bad morning sickness. At the time, a source said that she was “super excited”. They also said that she was feeling strong and that she was resting until her baby arrived.
The friend added: “Her support system is extremely strong. She is taking things easy these days and is feeling well but not overdoing it in any capacity of her life. Janet is staying healthy for her and her baby. She’s been praying for a child for a very long time. She’s already in the process of thinking of baby names.”
They said she was aware of the complications which could come as a result of being an older mum. Her older brother Jermaine said that she would be a fantastic mother, and he offered to change diapers if she wanted him to.
Ms Jackson and her 41 year old Qatari husband married five years ago. The star postponed her Unbreakable World Tour because she wanted to start a family. She asked fans to understand that she need to rest while she was expecting. The five-time Grammy winner was previously married to the singer James DeBarge and the music video director René Elizondo jr.
