It would appear that the old saying “money can’t buy you happiness” is very true, as we are sad to announce that Janet Jackson has split up from her husband Wissam Al Mana, whom she wed back in 2012. He is worth an estimated $1billion and as such it is certainly not money worries that have caused this split!

There had been recent rumours something was worrying her or not quite right with the relationship as only last year she postponed her Unbreakable world tour which was planned to have been tour on which she would perform at 36 different stadiums.

Having a son, Elissa between them, a close  friend has stated that they are both determined to be good parents and will do all they can to ensure the little boy does not suffer in any way from this break up, even after they go their separate ways for good.

Another friend of the family has stated that the split is amicable, and it was just a case of them both realizing the relation was simply not working, and they decide the best course of action would be a permanent split to allow them both to concentrate on their own separate lives.

Janet is going to be basing herself in London the friend went on to say and will be living there with Elissa. One thing that may prove to be very costly for Janet’s husband is the divorce settlement, for with him being worth over four times the net worth of Ms Jackson and with her looking after their child it could take quite some time to finally come to a full and final divorce settlement.

Back in 2012 when they got married there was a lot of speculation that Janet had converted to Islam, due mainly to her appearing in public many times wearing a headdress, however that speculation has never been confirmed or denied.

In fact, shortly after the birth of their son lots of people started to speculate that their marriage was in trouble as she had been spotted out and about minus her wedding ring. Jackson is no stranger to marriage though for this is her third marriage after having been married to the singer James DeBarge back in 1984 and also having been married to one of her backing dancers, that being Rene Elizondo.

Her second marriage lasted for nine years from 1991 until 2000, and that divorce did cost her dear for she was reported to have paid him $10million as part of their divorce settlement.

The court papers at the time stated that Elizondo described Jackson as being completely paranoid about every aspect of her life and privacy and he pretended to be just her boyfriend rather than her husband as she wanted him to be out of the limelight!

It was not the best of marriages in Jackson’s words and she blamed the marriage breakdown on his addiction to prescription drugs. In fact, not long after her second marriage failed she did go on to say she is probably just unlucky in love and said that maybe marriage was not for her.
