Prince Harry has been spotted heading to the pub for post Christmas drinks with a man once dubbed his “second father”. The royal, fifth in line to the British throne, met up with Mark Dyer for a few hours.

The Prince was seen sharing a joke with Mr Dyer at a pub in Sands End, South West London, where the pair had cocktails, followed by a bottle of red wine, which they shared between them.

Their chat comes as speculation that Prince Harry has found “the one” continues. The Prince has been in a relationship with Suits actress Meghan Markle, 35, since the summer.

While Prince Harry is catching up with his nearest and dearest over the festive season, Ms Markle has also been seen enjoying some quality time with loved ones. The actress was seen leaving a yoga session with her mother Doria before having dinner with her the same night in one of Toronto’s trendiest restaurants.

Quiet chat

Prince Harry spent around 90 minutes chatting with Mr Dyer at the pub before leaving with his bodyguard. An onlooker said that they kept their heads down to make sure what they were saying was not overheard. Ms Markle is, however, sure to have featured in their conversation.

The fellow pubgoer said that the prince’s bodyguard had also been at the table, and that Prince Harry was very polite, thanking bar staff as he left.

Mr Dyer has been a key figure in the Prince’s life since he was a boy. Prince Charles asked him to keep an eye on both Prince William and Prince Harry following the sudden death of their mother Princess Diana. He has acted as a mentor and a source of guidance for Prince Harry over the years. Mr Dyer is also a close friend of Prince William’s and was in attendance when he married Kate Middleton in 2011.
