A girl who was abducted 18 years ago from a hospital in Florida by a woman who dressed as a nurse has been found alive and well in South Carolina.

Eighteen year old Kamiyah Mobley, whose kidnapper has brought her up, is now living with her under the name Alexis Manigo. She has defended the woman she believed to be her mother, saying she had given her all she had needed.

Gloria Williams, 51, has now been arrested and charged with kidnapping. Meanwhile, the 18 has issued a statement via social media, saying: “My mother raised me with everything I needed and most of all everything I wanted. My mother is no felon.”

What happened to baby Kamiyah has mystified authorities for years after she was taken straight from her mom Shanara Mobley’s arms at Jacksonville’s University Medical Center. According to reports, Williams had a miscarriage a week before she took the baby, having driven from South Carolina to Florida.

Officials say the 18 year old was told on Friday that the woman who has raised her is not her biological mother. Kamiyah has now been able to speak, via FaceTime to her birth parents. detectives say Shanara Mobley and Craig Aiken cried with joy when they were informed that their daughter had been found at last.

Williams has two biological children of her own, who grew up as Kamiyah’s siblings. The teenager is understood to have graduated from high school and have a steady boyfriend. She cried out “Momma” when she saw Williams through a security door. Williams could be facing life in prison if she is found guilty of the offence.

The cold case was finally solved after a tip off last year. Detectives discovered a teenager with Kamiyah Mobley’s birthday, but with a different name and took DNA samples from the 18 year old.
