Today is a big day in the tech industry as Apple has scheduled its “It’s Glowtime” event in Apple Park in Cupertino, California. The event that is scheduled to commence at 10 AM PT (10:30 PM IST) will see the firm unveiling new technologies with the iPhone 16 series likely to take the spotlight.
The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to include four models: These are the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This years release is even more interesting as it is the first time that Apple has decided to unveil its flagship product on a Monday as opposed to its Friday standard. This strategic shift is believed to be in response to two significant events occurring on Tuesday: a record breaking EU fine announcement and the first vice-presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
Another interesting thing that the new iPhone series has brought is Apple Intelligence – the company’s attempt at AI smartphones. This strategy will place Apple in the right place to counter Google and Samsung in the AI smartphone market. It is believed that all the iPhone 16 series will be equipped with the new A18 processor with different versions for the pro and base versions.
The software changes are also expected in the future while the Pro models are believed to have a larger screen size. The iPhone 16 Pro could boast a 6. 3-inch screen, whereas, iPhone 16 Pro Max model could be featuring 6 inches screen. 9-inch screen. These models are also expected to have thinner bezels to give the users more screen space. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are expected to remain with 6. 1-inch and 6. 7-inch screen sizes, respectively.
The other major area of enhancement in the version to be released this year is in the cameras. According to the rumors, both, iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will have a 5x zoom periscope telephoto camera, which has not been seen in any iPhone model before. Furthermore, there is likely to be a new button for the camera called the ‘Capture Button’ to be implemented in all the models. This capacitive button will enable the users to perform touch gestures for controlling the camera actions.
As far as design is concerned, the Pro models may bring a new Bronze Titanium color while the base models may shift their rear camera array from the diagonal to the vertical arrangement. It is also anticipated that the event will unveil new features of other Apple devices such as the Apple Watch Series 10 which may be renamed as Apple Watch Series X and the new generation AirPods.
While the tech world waits for these new devices to be released to the market, it can be seen that Apple is constantly raising the bar in terms of innovation. This year’s event which is dubbed as “It’s Glowtime” will go down in Apple’s history as a company not only for the devices that will be launched but also for the unprecedented circumstances that characterized this year’s launch.
