The battle to acquire MoneyGram International Inc appears to have gone in favor of Chinese financial company Ant Financial after it raised its bid by over 36 percent to beat a rival offer. The revised bid has been backed by MoneyGram’s board. Its latest bid is valued at $18 a share in cash, up from the previous offer of $13.25, putting the value of MoneyGram’s stock at $1.2 billion. Caesars Entertainment recently appeared before a Louisiana gaming taskforce and highlighted the negative impact of the smoking ban imposed within casinos in New Orleans back in April 2015. According to Caesars Entertainment president and CEO Mark Frissora, Harrah’s Casino & Hotel located in downtown New Orleans has lost nearly $70 million in revenue in the two years since the smoking ban was enforced. Harrah’s is one of the three gaming facilities owned by Caesars Entertainment in the area. A Vietnamese company known as FLC Group Joint Stock Co has announced that it has received government approval to invest into a casino resort in Quang Ninh, a northern province in Vietnam. Owned by billionaire Trinh Van Quyet, the company’s subsidiary FLC Faros Van Don is likely to invest up to $2 billion in the project according to the announcement. Britain’s economy has grown by 0.6% in the fourth quarter of last year against predictions that thought in the wake of Brexit complexities it would shrink. SpaceX has formally announced they will postpone their manned Dragon Capsule vehicle, which was designed to transport NASA astronauts back and to the International Space Station. Decision This decision came after the unprecedented explosion that occurred in Falcon-9 rocket as it was being fueled on September 1st. The manned vehicle was set to leave in late 2017, but as of now the plans have changed, pushing it to take place in May, 2018. They are forming a new multimedia company, called ‘Hello Sunshine’, which focuses on sharing stories about women. Witherspoon’s role in the partnership will be her production company, called Pacific Standard. The company has produced films titled, “Gone Girl” and “Wild”. They also have an upcoming series for HBO, titled “Big Little Lies”.
